I am a lifelong student of natural health and stay on the cutting edge of technology in service to better communication. I have a multitude of skills in writing and a variety of digital arts, including video production, graphic design for print or web, photography and web design with a focus on education and promotion. Since 2022 I've experimented with and used AI tools (ChatGPT, Mid-Journey and Sora) for practical projects. Though I am a firm believer in the potential for AI to positively transform society, I am tracking the ramifications of its impact on society as a whole.
I am excited to add voice-over narration to my extensive list of skills to offer my clients.
I bring a sophisticated, articulate voice with a warm and approachable tone — the kind of delivery that connects equally well in corporate narration, e-learning, documentaries, and commercial work. I’ve always been drawn to the art of storytelling and the power of the human voice to make ideas come alive. My background includes writing two short stories and a feature-length screenplay, directing and performing in instructional videos for a large healthcare system, and providing voice-over for a corporate sales presentation.
Because I’ve worked both behind the mic and behind the scenes, I understand what producers, directors, and marketing teams need from voice talent: clarity, emotional truth, and a natural sense of timing. My delivery style combines intelligence and sincerity — ideal for projects that require trust, professionalism, or warmth. In short: authenticity. My philosophy for communication in general.
I record using a high-quality AKG condenser microphone with an Edirol UA-25 interface and sound baffling for clean, balanced audio. I can also create distinct, character-driven voices inspired by classic actors — perfect for animation and video game projects that call for something unique and memorable.
Whether you’re looking for a polished, authoritative read or a conversational and friendly tone, I bring creativity, reliability, and attention to detail to every project. Let’s collaborate to make your next production sound fantastic.
Professional Experience
During my years as corporate video producer I won two national awards and produced a documentary on the nonviolent movement to stop nuclear testing in the Nevada desert. "Peace Test: Nonviolence in Action" had a long-running airing on local public access TV. As part of a volunteer special project in 2001, I also produced an educational video, “Your Voice Matters,” which was widely used by women across Oregon to lobby their state legislature for better funding for women’s safety and health.
In August 2011 I finished a vocal exercise DVD, "Unified Voice-Works: A path to Healing, Integration and Performance," hosted by Unified Voice-Works creator and singer/songwriter, Heather Hutton. Her DVD features 11 original voice therapy exercises. For more about the Unified Voice-Works workshops: https://www.heatherhutton.com/vocal-coaching. That same year I produced a DVD for Oregon bodyword practitioner, Angie Thusius, as a companion to her book, Kentro Body Balance. The DVD, Kentro Body Balance, Movements for a Healthy Back & Body, is available for sale: https://kentrobodybalance.com/products/dvd.shtml
My writing experience includes a new kindle book, Fabrics For Better Living: Natural Threads To Support People and Planet; 3 blogs, dozens of press releases and a number of newsletter articles for a recent employer, Beyond Toxics; a fundraising letter for a human rights non-profit, a feature film screenplay (Sweet Life); a two-act play for a theater class (Use It Wisely); a variety of educational video scripts and a great many essays (example: "Seeking the embrace of the Infinite: A personal exploration of a more practical philosophy") and opinion pieces (some published). See my writing samples page for more details.
Originally from the Chicago area, I was born with a natural inclination towards empathy, creativity and an appreciation for fine details and raised by parents who had ideas a little out of the mainstream. I have developed an appreciation for many perspectives and honed the skill of diplomacy out of a deep fascination with--and respect for--people of all kinds.
